At 94%, the Philippines maintains one of the highest literacy rates among developing countries. However, there is still a high dropout rate, most prominently in the rural areas.

The Foundation is engaged in the establishment of :

The school shall provide a positive environment that promotes academic excellence, and moral and civic consciousness - especially genuine concern and therefore sincere efforts to help in the restoration, development, and preservation of our environment; the recognition of, and respect for the laws of the land, our local culture, our traditional values, and preservation of the history and tradition of the Philippines.

The people behind FOFI are mostly products of the former excellent public educational system that the Philippines was known for when its level of excellence was not only known throughout Asia (with a large export of professionals since the 50s) and even extended as far as the United States.

FOFI contributes by helping to facilitate funds to make education accessible and affordable to those who can neither afford nor have access to learning. Our graduate scholars to date have materialized their dreams of improving the livelihood of not only their families but have also inspired their local communities and those they continue to encounter, inspire them the same dreams and pursuits. The scholarship portion of FOFI is continuing its efforts in helping underprivileged individuals over the age of 12 who cannot afford to send their children to higher institutes of learning.

We have since graduated a teacher who pursued her Ph.D in Education; and a dentist who passed the board exams and is now gainfully employed as a dentist in Singapore; assisted a computer science student who now also works in Singapore as an IT and is supporting her parents in the Philippines. We also helped a nursing student who was on her last year of school last year but whose sickly parent could no longer finance her last year of nursing studies; she graduated and paid for her ongoing review classes for the board exams this year. More importantly, we recently signed an MOA for a Thesis and Research Grant with the University of the Philippines in Los Banos for deserving two Junior Students every year in the College of Agriculture.

Slowly but surely, small steps in making education accessible will have a great impact on our crossroads towards progress. It is not a long shot; rather it is our one sure structural contribution towards change.
